Water Coolers
Air-Water Evaporative Cooler
The most modern, economical, and ecological method for cooling industrial, commercial, sports buildings, and warehouses is air-water cooling.
It represents the best solution for cooling large spaces such as industrial warehouses, storage facilities, sports fields, etc.
Air-water cooling, when compared to traditional heat pump cooling technologies, allows for significant savings in terms of energy consumption as well as indoor comfort. A traditional air conditioning system is inefficient when there are pre-existing extraction systems or frequent opening of doors and gates. Air-water cooling ensures constant air exchange and works with doors and windows open.
How does evaporative cooling work?
Air-water cooling, also known as adiabatic cooling or evaporative cooling, works on the principle of water evaporation through which air is cooled until it reaches a comfortable temperature.
During the evaporative cooling process, water is evaporated in an airflow and transitions from liquid to vapor state. This transition requires energy (latent heat of vaporization) which is extracted from the air, and as a result of this process, the air cools down.
It is a cooling technique that uses water as a refrigerant.
Unlike a traditional air conditioning system, evaporative cooling works with doors and windows open, thus promoting air renewal and keeping environments fresh and healthy.
Evaporative cooling introduces 100% fresh air into the environment (compared to 25% in traditional systems) and produces continuous air exchange over time; in this way, the environment receives fresh, clean, and oxygenated air and expels stale air.
The fresh air introduced into the environment is cooled through the evaporative water process without using compressors and refrigerant gases.
Evaporative technology allows for treating and cooling large volumes of air with minimal energy expenditure and zero environmental impact.
Safety, Health, and Productivity
At least 50% of the heat in the space comes from heat radiated by the roof, even if well insulated, to which is added heat produced by lighting fixtures, machinery, and people. Furthermore, discomfort conditions caused by high temperatures inside the work environment cause heat stress, which begins above 27°C and causes:
Advantages of Air-Water Cooling
01. Cools only the desired volume
Cools only the volume of spaces between the air outlet diffusers and the floor below. It can also cool by zones because air is introduced from above.
02. Eco-friendly product
Does not use compressors containing gases harmful to the environment, uses very little electrical energy that can be easily integrated with photovoltaic panels, and exploits the renewable energy of water for cooling ambient air in a continuous natural transformation cycle, from water to vapor and then back to the initial state of water. Additionally, there is a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
03. Fresh air output from coolers
Offers significant benefits for workers’ health and well-being as it is constantly filtered and purified with methods ranging from G2 to G4. Furthermore, it is not dry as occurs in traditional air conditioning systems.
04. Modular composition and zone management
Allows the user to choose only the zone to be cooled and to expand the system at a later time by simply adding more units.
05. Operating and maintenance costs are reduced by 90%
Compared to heat pump air conditioning systems, investment costs are far lower. Current water and electricity costs are approximately €1-2 per day for each cooling unit.
By choosing evaporative cooling, comfort and productivity improve, thus reducing the risk of sick building syndrome or other transmitted conditions.
Water coolers adapt to any type of application, both industrial and civil.
They also adapt perfectly in combination with radiant heating equipment, such as radiant strips, radiant tubes, or heating strips.
