What is evaporative cooling?
Evaporative cooling is a natural system that uses water evaporation to lower air temperature. The principle is the same one the human body uses to cool down through perspiration: when water evaporates, it absorbs heat from the environment, lowering the temperature.
How does an air-water cooler work?
Unlike traditional air conditioning systems, Air-Water coolers:
- Do not use refrigerant gases (F-gases)
- Have no compressors
- Consume very little electrical energy
The operation is simple yet extremely effective:
- Hot outside air is drawn in by a fan.
- It passes through evaporative pads, similar to water-soaked sponges.
- During passage, the water evaporates and cools the air by up to 10°C.
- The fresh, clean air is distributed inside the warehouse through ducts and vents.
Each unit can generate up to 30,000 m³/h of cooled air, with a cooling capacity of 30 kW and a consumption of only 950 W.
